Our Financial Policy

We completely understand our patients’ desires to fit dental expenses within a household budget. We work with patients every day to help them find ways to obtain the excellent dental care they need and desire. Patients are expected to pay for treatment rendered at the time of service unless other financial arrangements have been made in advance.

We offer several payment options:

  • Patients may pay by cash, check or the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
  • We also offer outside financing through CareCredit®.  This option enables approved patients to spread out payments over a period of time from 6-12 months, interest free.
  • We offer a 5% discount on total treatment plans paid by cash or check upfront at the start of treatment.

We are committed to helping you with your dental insurance by researching and verifying your benefits for you. Policies vary widely in benefits provided, procedures covered and fees allowed.

We often get the question: “Do you accept my insurance?” We are happy to file ALL dental claims to ANY company as long as you are free to choose your own dentist. For most dental plans, being “in network” is not a necessity because the benefits are almost identical and our fees are so close to what major companies such as Metlife and Cigna pay that our patients have very little out of pocket expense. If you are enrolled in an HMO or DMO plan, however, you must see a dentist that the insurance company chooses for you in order to receive dental benefits. We are participating providers for Delta Dental currently, but we file claims daily for all traditional plans such as Anthem, United Healthcare, Cigna, Metlife, Guardian, Aetna, United Concordia and many others. New insurance products are available on the market constantly and we strive to stay abreast of this rapidly changing industry on your behalf.

As a courtesy to you, we will file claims, provide necessary documentation of payment of services, and follow up on outstanding claims on your behalf provided you supply us with correct, up-to-date information on your existing policy. We make every effort to help you maximize and understand your benefits. However, we cannot be held responsible for what your plan ultimately pays. We realize the world of insurance is confusing and are happy to help you navigate it, but it is ultimately your responsibility to know your benefits.  In every case, insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company.

Our goal is to offer the best dental care available. Our doctors and hygienists recommend treatment based on the health and needs of each individual patient, not according to what an insurance company pays.

Wellness Plan

Many of our patients have no dental insurance benefits.  Our uninsured adult patients have the choice to join our in office Wellness Plan.

We take the time to listen to what you want or need. While many offices have gone corporate, we prefer to stay “family” in order to build a trustworthy relationship that will endure and be able to serve you well as you establish and keep a healthy mouth for a healthy lifetime.

Steadman Family Dentistry is proud to be on the leading edge of offices around the country now offering an in-house plan for uninsured adults. We call is our Healthy Smiles Wellness Plan.

Affordable dental insurance coverage has become a national problem. Many adults today are either without insurance or unhappy with increasing premium costs and disappointed by cumbersome restrictions imposed by their dental insurance carriers. In short, our plan helps our patients stay healthy by making dental care more affordable. For an annual membership fee that is much less than traditional plans, patients receive two exams, two regular cleanings, two fluoride treatments and all necessary X-rays. IN ADDITION, our wellness plan patients receive a 15% discount on needed treatment up to $5,000 per year. There are no waiting periods, no insurance limitations or games to play, and patients pay for services they are actually using.
